Glove Box door issue

The Glovebox door on my 69 Charger seems to pop open when driving along
I don't have the key to lock it.Has anyone experienced this and will I need to get a new lock?

Have you tried adjusting the latch a bit? I had one that popped open many years ago as well. Been so long now that I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it.

Agree with above. It should be tight when closed, no free play on the door. Does it open and close squarely without binding? Hinge undamaged?

Look at your latch to see if it is broken. That bar should be at the top to receive the lock mechanism.

The condition you cite is very serious, to the extent of unrepairable. Your only option is to sell the car to me very cheaply.

I had the same problem, I put some tiny washers underneath the "little bar" at top so that it was good and tight, Problem disappeared.

Try adjusting the upper catch bracket the lock connects to

If a misadjusted latch is the problem, having the key to lock it would make no difference.
