Morning everyone, been driving by this 76 Cordoba for years now and finally said to hell with it, found out who owns the land that it's sitting on and called him up. He was more than happy to get rid of it for the handsome sum of diddly squat saying that he was going to haul it off to the scrap heap anyway.
Haven't been able to get super close to it yet to get any good pictures as the weather hasn't been great down this way, so the only pic I got was taken with my phone while I sat in my car!

Looks fairly straight, the owner told me it ran great when parked, but it's been years since it was fired up. Hopefully going to get it home soon and see what I have to work with! I have this funny feeling that I might find a mouse nest or two :icon_rolleyes:.

Or 3. Welcome to fbbo. Nice Score.

Looks like it managed not to sink into the ground as so many do - you might even have some intact floor panels in there. :D

Well, got out there tonight to take a closer look and was not disappointed. Minimal rust around one rear wheel arch, not near as many mice as I thought and save for a minor door ding on the drivers side she's nice and straight. Managed to get the hood open and was surprised to see a 360 staring back at me as I was really hoping for the 400 as I have squat for experience with SB Mopars. Found the registration and was also surprised to find out that it's a 77 not a 76, and it looks like the last time it was on the road was 1997!! Should be interesting to see if I can get the 360 to bark after sitting for so long.

warning

for goodness sake-please do not start the car with the old gas in the tank .this gas will cause your engine to sticky eng valves
once the engine starts.once this happens you will need to pull the heads off.change the gas or disconnect the fuel line at the fuel pump and connect a motor boat tank with hose for fresh gas.these tanks are cheep.
best of luck

thanks

welcome aboard from the center of the country. good score by the way. i would try a socket on the crank to see if it turns before hitting the starter. x2 on good gas.

Welcome from Southern BC! Nice to see your project is in decent shape. How does the interior look? Don't worry about small block experience, all your questions can be answered here. :)

Welcome to FBBO and thanks for your display of personal initiative. Amazing what can happen if you just ask. :)

Thanks for the warm welcomes and all the advice guys! To answer your question Photon, other than a very small amount of debris from mice, the interior isn't too bad and looks like it should clean up nicely. Upholstery is a bit faded, but it'll do just fine...for now!
In all honesty, I was very surprised to see how little mice have gotten into the car after sitting in a field for so long. I was going to snap some pics last night, but my phone case is red and every time the flash goes off, my pictures turn out crappy, so hopefully going to make it out on Saturday with the good camera.

Just perusing the internet now for some bolt on options for the 360 until I really want to throw some coin at it. Got a Weiand spread bore dual plane and a thermoquad available, might throw a set of headers on it with 2-1/2" duals and am toying with throwing a cam in it.
