When I was a kid, I wanted to be a DJ. I loved music and thought that it would be a cool job to have.
The main problem that I faced was that I didn't have the voice for it.
Look back at the greats....they all had that rich, deep, heavy bass baritone sound that comes across so well.
I'm not squeaky or tinny but I don't have that great sound like they did.
Paul Harvey had a great voice.
This guy too:

The wife likes hearing this guy talk:

Who was that announcer that did those voice-overs for the new car road tests? Linneman or something like it?

What other celebrities had those great voices?

Head and shoulders above everyone else, Paul Harvey. Rush, Earl Nightingale and even though he is an ***, Garrison Keillor.

3rd for Paul Harvey, Stand by For NEWS!
I had the face for radio. I was a dj on the air and for dances at college and bars. Fun job. Lots of great stories.

What do I have to do? Smoke a lot of cigarettes and drink whiskey?

It couldn't hurt. Listen to young Waylon Jennings and then listen after his voice had been aged with liquor and cigarettes.

Worked for me. :)
Also - see "puberty: when your balls drop"....

These days, Mike Rowe probably has the most pure, deep voice of anyone working.
Agreed! Man, he makes deadliest catch edge of your seat exciting.

THAT, is a great start!

....But I don't like either of those things....
