Has anyone here rented a motorhome and traveled to the national parks out west?

One day when retired we will take our camper across country but it's a tow type. That said my parents had a big diesel pusher motor home and it was a pain to go places once you were there because it's set-up to sit for a few days. They had to make sure they didn't forget anything. So if you rent one make sure you also have a small car towed behind as otherwise it really limits where you can go and what you can see.

Glen Canyon Dam is amazing. Valley of Fire I-15.

Hampton, Sedona, Arizona. 300 square feet. Take the Pink Jeep tour.

Correction: Poison Oak out here not Poison Ivy.

SLC: Tab n Apple Choir. We saw them on a practice night. May have been a Thursday. Wort it. Not much booze in that town.

Grand Canyon. Stayed in Williams and took the Train to the south rim. Two nights at the Maswick Lodge. Been about ten years and kinda over rated way to do it.

Keep in mind nowadays the parks are overcrowded in the summer so you need permits to see most of the popular attractions. I'm sure you'll do your research, but I'd imagine the best time to go is when school is still in session. I went to Zion in May this year and permits were still needed. Bryce was crazy too, not enough parking.

Not on your loop, but Eastern Sierra is stunning. 395. Lots of History.

My Memory is failing, that was last year when international travel was still strong, this year went to Olympic National Park. Flew in to Seattle and rented a car, didn't have an itinerary so we booked AirBnB's depending on where we ended up, worked well.
