Kudos Rebel for posting the dollar amount. It takes big balls to do that and stand up like a man to all of us with our jaws still dropped.

roger does your car have a solid lifter cam in it?if so that might be valve train noise, need a adjustment maybe.I'm also just a workin slob.ALL my spare time & money go in the car. This time around I had to rely on a friend to getin it done. Not sure how many years I can climb in & out with the cage in the car. I can't afford a dedicated track car so my street heap has to do double duty!

As with anything else in life, get a second or third quote before you jump in head first. The price seems high considering what is being done and doesn't seem like anything a local shop couldn't handle.
Some beautiful cars in that shop. Id love to take a tour of the place and see them for myself.
Good to see you're taking good care of your car and just want it done the first time right.
Even though some things may sound simple to some, I wouldn't put it past some regular shops to eff that up too.
Maybe. I can tell you some dealer nightmare stories myself. In fact, I don't do dealers anymore for my cars unless it is a recall, or warranty. The main function of a dealer is to sell you a car.Bottom line on this one if I spent more in the actual dealer labour from Hyundai rather than joes corner shop I would have had my car a week earlier, avoided a lot of aggravation, and probably only paid a $100-150 more.....
I told him about Bill,he is the man but a bit of a drive for the OP,but worth every cent.I have the honor of racing with bill and Ralph when I can!In the future, if you are going to have anyone else work on your car, you need to take it to Bill Atwood at....

These people only work on old cars, and in particular, Mopars are their specialty. I brought my Road Runner in to him just a couple weeks ago for some carb tuning. VERY knowledgeable guy & VERY reasonably priced.

It's a shame that you hadn't asked for a repair shop in CT before you went to that high end place. If you have any questions about your car, do yourself a favor and just ask here before you leap. There are plenty of knowledgeable people here. Just a bit of advice.
