Headlight upgrade

I'm not that far yet,, is there any way I can save this post?

I tried doing a relay conversion in my 70 Charger. It really screwed with the headlight doors and high beams. The doors wouldn't close unless I had the IGN on and hit the high beams. I figure it had something to do with the headlight relay under the dash. After cutting the wires and seeing all of this, I just ordered a new harness from Evans wiring. Great product and the NEW wiring made enough of a difference to forget any future wiring "upgrades".

Hey Rob, Not a big electrical myself, I guess instrutions come with your set up?

Yes, I have instructions that I did for an A body car. Same basic approach with any of the cars.

If you need any additional support, I'm a phone call or PM away.

You don't cut anything with mine, all original wiring remains undisturbed.

Stock wiring is NOT that good and has horrible voltage drop, here's proof!
E body car with stock then my kit installed. Both on low beam. Notice the dash lights are brighter, a secondary benefit in most every case.

Wish I would've taken before and after with my dart .... Was a BIG difference !

So Rob do you have a recommendation of headlights for the 4 -headlight guys?

I'd look for some H1 and H4 GE halogens if you want simple, lower cost sealed beam replacements. H5001 and H5006. About $30-35 for a set

E-codes get up there in price but are very good.

Thanks for the purchase. When are you going to do the Coronet? I do provide customer loyalty discounts. :)

Another option would be to install LED lights. Advantages are very low current draw, long life. I recently did such on my 69 RR and the high beams are especially great. Not legal for street use, though.
