Heater Box Material

[Charger Fan]

I am rebuilding/restoring the heater box on my '73 Charger wan to paint the outside to eliminate the scuffs and scratches. Can't tell if the material is a plastic type with infused fibers, phenolic, or fiberglass. Just trying to make sure whatever paint I use is compatible and will adhered to the material. Anyone know what the material of the box is?

I used SEM Landau Black on mine. Just cleaned it up with some simple green and repainted it while I had it apart. May have used some SEM vinyl prep on it but don't recall
