Hellephant pricing

Everyone knows speed costs money, how fast do ya wanna go? What a freakin deal! $30.00 per horse with a warranty. Hard pressed to build anything close for that price..
Doesn't seem so bad when you put it that way. When looking at midsize outboard motors they seem to be 100$ per horse power!

Vipers use a Dana 44.

Ok we all drooled over this hellelephant engine, and this as an imagination exercise, how much the average Joe must spent in a car to run this engine, a decent project b body, let's say a charger 1968 or 69 reinforce the body, transmission, suspension, brakes, the hellelephant, :popcorn2:

$150,000

Do we know the number of preorders? For that matter how many they’re planning on building?

Wow that baby is trippy. Love to stuff an elephant in my GTX. Just the sound makes me tingle.

I wonder if any member buy one of those baby's, RC maybe? , he's crazy enough to do that.:fool::D

No I'm not. Although I admit that I do like the idea of putting a Hellcat engine in an old car, I don't think I'd attempt it, unless everything was completely bolt in.

Yeah you better have some patience you'll be modifying everything. I've been watching a guy build one and we call him Macgyver around here . He's been calling this one the killer bee

I'm not sure I'm sold on the crate stuff. I have heard some poor builds that come in a crate. And not just Mopar. I would think to make 1000 horse, parts and balance would need to be precise. But I would feel better seeing and assembly of components. I'm sure the crate business has gotten better. But it is a $30k gamble. If you have the machining skills. Or have a good motor machinist in your circle? You can build a 1000 horse hemi for $30k. And be very secure on the component's quality.

When the hellcat crate came out, it was 20 grand. After demand stabilized, I saw them for as little as 12 grand. Somehow, I doubt that helliphants will follow that sales arc.
