Hello All!

Some of us build these cars with the intention of pleasing others or to ensure a higher resale value. Guys like ME build the car to please themselves. Which guy are you?

Thanks man! I want the burnt orange! I'm also an airplane guy. The guys that get in your face and say it has to be correct, we call "rivet counters". I'm Not one of those.
I just thought that if it was a rare color then that would give it more value to me. You know what I mean?

Wow! What a welcome. Thank all of you for the responses! I will try to post more pics and start a garage. I'm still figuring out all the ins and outs here.
One question for you guys, (this time) this car doesn't have a lot of the original parts. I checked the tag and found all the info on the car. The original color was, and if anyone has one this color, no offense!, sand pebble beige.
Here is the question, was that a very unique color? Is the car going to be worth more if I match that because there were only 4 cars total painted that color?? I really want the burnt orange. Again, it isn't numbers matching on many other items so I just wanted some Mopar guys ideas.
Thanks again for all the posts!
Jeremy

More pics. Note what is left of the side "road runner" badge. I just wanted to write "doesn't" in front of it and "YET" after it!

Paint the car the color you want. It won’t be worth more or less no matter what you do. Build the entire car to please your taste. You’ll never get more money out of it than you have in it anyway.

Welcome from Georgia. Nice project!

It’s lots more fun to build it the way you want it. I’ll have to say I haven’t seen many beige RRs, lots of beige Belvederes... My 63 Fury was originally beige, the previous owner painted it a reddish orange :realcrazy:, it will eventually be dark blue poly.

welcome to FBBO from 100's of miles east

good luck with the build

can't tell you the secret handshake yet
you're a newbie, it takes a while
10 or more posts 1st

Welcome from the great white north.... nice car, but guess I’m a little partial. As far as color goes, do what you want. My choice, was vitamin C.... just so happens that was the original color of my car. Got lucky I guess.

Greetings Sprad! Welcome to our FBBO forum! I luv it here because I am surrounded by people just like me; lovers of the B-body MOPARS!

I agree with Kern Dog; choose a color that pleases you.

May I make a couple suggestions before you tear into your rebuild.

1.) Be like Chip Foose Overhaulin' projects - The first job is draw a plan for your rebuild and never deviate or wander off the plan.

2.) Invest in the chassis first and body last. Make sure it will steer & stop good before the paint job.

3.) Throw away the "stab & steer" front drum brakes first and replace with a disc brake upgrade. It will change the way you can drive your 3800 pound MOPAR around town.

4.) Replace worn steering linkage from steering wheel to outer tie rod ends. Consider a power rack & pinion steering upgrade to take away the sloppy steering.

5.) Consider a rear leaf spring relocation kit to give more room for bigger drive tires.

Anyway, good luck with your build!

Welcome from Wisconsin. Not sure what the MC was, but I am sure the RR is a better deal. My Zero S was made in Santa Cruze.

Welcome, best of luck on your project.
Keep us posted on the progress.
