Hello from NorCal

Welcome from Alabama, hope you find the Coronet of your dreams.

Dude.. I think I just may havd :). Thank you.

And welcome from Mariposa County. Down the road a piece from Napa. Okay a couple hundred miles. I'm enjoying a 66 Charger and introducing folks to a car most have never seen and to others who remember seeing or owning one many years ago. Wish you luck on finding one that turns heads.

Thanks man! Kind of the same vibe with our 73 Westy we currently have. Everyone has a VW story :)

BELATED WELCOME! From the north end of the valley. I used to go striper fishing from Cuttings Wharf regularly.

Thanks for the replies. RR Fan Dan, I'm in Napa. Not the bougie downtown Napa but the the OG farming community Napa :).
welcome! There's great driving spots in your area. I'm from Concord, live in San Jose and have family and friends in Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa. There are a handful of amazing northern CA Mopar people on this site.

Welcome from another Central Ca member... How's your search going?

Thanks, all.

BDF, good to know there's another B Body person around :). Not too many of us around these parts. Mostly Chebby's I've seen. And a few Fords.

Long post coming, sorry...

R/T - Sorry, I guess I forgot to update this thread. In late June, we found one in AZ, flew out to see it, bought it, and had it shipped back within a couple weeks. It's a numbers matching car - 383 / 727 / 3.23s and 64k original miles. The PO was not a "mechanical" car guy, but more someone who did what he could and had a local speed shop do the rest. The body, frame and undercarriage were all done - pretty well - but there are some minor things that need attention. That was the main criteria since I am NOT a body guy at all. Other than that, the headliner and carpet are new and the interior looks original but is in very good shape. They put "killmat" under the carpet to help deaden the sound but the car also has Flowmaster 40s so it ain't very quiet :).

When we got it, it came with a couple boxes of small parts and the only thing that worked were the brake lights. Everything else I had to figure out, connect, reattach, and/or get bolts for. It's kinda like the guy got the body done and the panels hung and adjusted and then had to stop (mom got sick so he needed to sell his cars to move back to Oakland with moms). Now, everything works except the speedo and I have a new cable already installed, so there's that. And.. unbeknownst to us, it was running on 7 cylinders from the time we looked at it in AZ and about a week after we got it home. I thought it might have had a cam in it from the sound but it didn't have the "punch" I expected. Turned out, the #7 plug wire was never attached so after I reconnected it, it was waaay better. Gave it a full tune-up - found out it already had Mopar electronic ignition - cool - adjusted the 600 Holley carb and it has been running pretty smoothly for a couple months. I still have to fix a PS leak and the trans shift linkage seals that leak but so far, so good. I have a light lifter tick that I need to chase down and maybe try to unstick it with some MM oil but it runs pretty well, is very quick from about 2k up is not terrible on gas, but the gauges are not super accurate. I was seriously considering the Dakota digital VHX route since DD is a good brand and it comes with all sending units so I'd definitely feel more comfortable going that route. Anyway, I've babbled long enough. Pics below. And thanks again for the welcome :)
