hi guys, read a lot of the forums on here and it sounds like the place I need to look for advice!
I will shortly be the proud owner of a 69 road runner and would like advice on how to go about what id like to accomplish. I am going for a "pro street" sort of look, I rebuilt a 440 hp block with a steel crank and 906 heads "engine builder put $1400 into" I know I shoulda just bought aluminum heads ,but anyways, im going to girdle the bottom end and put a 871 blower on top and run a small amount of boost "6lbs or so" to hopefully get around 650hp, ive always wanted a blown car so its mostly for looks. what my question to you is where to spend the $$. I wish I could afford to put 30k into it and do it 100% but that's just not in the cards at the moment. assuming I have the engine done here are my questions and where can I cut costs for my application and what do I NEED!
1- should I convert the front drums to disc brakes or do all 4 corners disc?
2- what rear end should I use? ford 9"? dana 60?
3- sub frame conectors? caltracs? 4 link?
4- rack and pinion steering?
im bassicly going to be mounting 2 aftermarket seats in the front and a bench in the rear and want to be able to drive around town and maby take it to the track 2 times in its life, any input would be greatly appreciated!! jake

Welcome. I use the 11" Hemi drums all 4. www.musclecarbrakes.com. Adequate for me.
Dana 60.
US Cartool subframe connectors. Weld in. No cutting.
Firm Feel Stage 2 steering box and tubular uca's.
Bilstein shocks all 4 corners.

I use and like these parts. Your needs may vary. Good luck. Mine is poor mans pro touring.

try the seach function on the top right of the page

welcome to FBBO
we do love our RR's around here

Welcome to FBBO. My only advice is don't get to the point where it is all torn apart for years and all you can do is look at it in pieces and can't drive it.

hi and welcome to the site

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new project! If you put a Ford rear end in that Bird it will anger the Mopar Gods, so don't do it!

The almighty Dana will set you free ... :icon_pray:

Welcome aboard!
Thanks for joining the forum.

My opinion?
1. Front disc only.
2. 8 3/4" rear end...DANA is overkill...heavy too!
3. No Rack & Pinion...too much money and hassle unless your really good at mechanics/fab work.

My advice: restore the Mopar. Brand X gets the Pro-Street treatment.
Way cheaper parts and you'll get a better return on the restored Mopar.

Jake.....up front, get the Mopar OEM Bendix 4 piston caliper, disc set-up...Bendix is great gear and it's factory. do aftermarket rears,,,,don't use floating calipers, use multi piston....i don't know if You could adapt 2 piston, butthat would be nice, don't need as much brake in the back as up front and biasing would be easier. Sub Frame connectors yes rack & pinion yes
