Photo shows the lower part of my steering column on my '73 Charger. The lineup has the coupler followed by the rag joint and then the steering box. I noticed the roll pin just after the rag joint (shown in the photo view at the edge of the rag joint heat shield). Is this the only roll pin or is there also one in the coupler which is what I am more familiar with. Also, assuming the only one is the one after the rag joint, is the opening in the firewall big enough to pull the column through with the rag joint and coupler still installed on the shaft?

Should be a tapered roll pin and only goes in/out in one direction

That is the only roll pin. The coupler bolts to a "rag joint" in 73. A one year only design. Yes it will fit through the firewall as a unit and it is so much easier to service off the car.

Thanks. Is a pickle fork easiest way to break the joint at the steering box after pin is removed?

It can help slide it off, remove all column hardware first from the dash and floorpan.
