I assumed it was a light, being a RRDoes your dash oil pressure gauge work ?
Oil , water temp and gas gauge all work off the same power in the dash

I would if I knew how, I am terrible at electronics and only know how to check voltage. I think I know what happened, see my other thread you commented on.Check the sending unit circuits with an ohm meter.
Thanks, my meter does have a ohm setting. I'll give it a try. Learn new things every day!Post a pic of your meter?
Click it to ohms ( omega sign, upside down U)
Touch the 2 probes together, should be 0.01 ohms- good
Put black to a good ground
Put red to the sender wire on your dash cluster connector ( pink/ violet - check schematic)
Look at the meter reading. Should be a solid number in the couple of hundreds.
If that's no good, check the temp sender directly.
Black on negative of battery
Red on the temp probe stud.
Give it a try! At least the sender on the water pump!
