About 22-23 years ago I got a "built" 1966 383 in a trade deal. I disassembled, honed the cylinders, and installed new bearing on the rods and crank. It runs great, but I was not able to identify the pistons from it back then. I suppose it really does not matter, but curiosity is still getting the better of me.

They are 60 over "Jahns" pistons with a slight dome and valve reliefs (See pictures). I could not find any other identifiers. I did not measure installed height over deck at the time. I'm wondering if anyone has a resource to narrow down the probable piston specs? They have to be at least 30+ years old, because the engine had been sitting around for awhile when I got it two decades ago.

FYI - they were paired with an Erson cam TQ30H, which is still available today: .465 lift / 310 duration (226 @ .050).

Well... that's all they had in the old school days. I'm guessing the manf date was maybe October 1983?

Since all Ersons catalog grinds back then were ground in Detroit there are White box cams for most of them
Then came the Super Shops era
quite different from today IDK what's ground in house these days but I bet not these. lets just say. "vintage" profiles
