Hey everyone,

I have a 540 hemi that was built by a guy named Mike Gafeeny. I doubt that's the actual spelling. Heard he is out of the Seattle area. I'm trying to find information on him so I can find out any information on the engine I have. I have a build sheet scribbled on a peice of paper. Hoping he has an actual record on this engine.

Ive gotten mixed information on this engine. Trying to find more on it before i pull heads myself and measure. This engine is out of the old mopar performance catalog, rumor I heard is he built them for mopar.

Also, can anyone give me a rough value?
Engine has a handful of dyno runs, that's it. No street and didn't make a run down the 1/4.

Thanks

That looks like a wonderful engine. It might be what you think it is based on the sheet of paper. And it might be dyno time only as you heard. That would all be great. Those engines were expensive new. It was my understanding (and it says it will ship from KB in the Mopar Performance catalog) that KB built those engines. Value? Hard to know how to price something when you don't know for sure what it is. Maybe $25,000 when I don't really know what I'm getting. I think they were $35,000 in the MP catalog. You have a nice piece in my opinion.

Although I love that oil pump there isn't any headers (or manifolds) that will work with it. (It is after all a Top Fuel oil pump.) Maybe custom made headers but the #1 pipe would look really funky. If a guy wanted to keep with the Keith Black theme you could use a Keith Black Ultrapump. And you would probably have to change the oil pan also.

Hey guys,

Did some serious investigation work and got some contact info. I got in contact with the builder. It's Mike Cofini, Absolute incredible fella. Had a good chat with him and he had the Information I was looking for. The notes I had were incorrect and it is 7.75:1 true street engine.

@HEMI-ITIS my intentions are to sell it. Its to pretty/fancy for my car. I think it deserves to be in a show car more then a beat on plymouth.

I don't have much for spare parts to go with it. Couple pistons, pulleys, belt, headgaskets. But, that would go with the sale.

I do have a bigstuff 3 w/ injectors to run a hat with it aswell. They seem to have almost no value now a days.
