Hi gang, my name's Ted and I just joined this site today in anticipation of my new toy that's arriving soon ( it's in a covered wagon transporter on it's way here from North Carolina). I was registered to For A-Bodies Only while helping my son with his Duster project and got the Dodge fever again. I sold my restored 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 spd car five years ago and have been Moparless since.

Well that's all changed now. As I saw my retirement savings dwindle away at the hands of the finacially irresponsible investment banks and such, I grew angry and felt the need to do something about it. I wasn't in the market for another muscle car, but when I saw this beautifully restored 1969 Coronet R/T I had to buy it! I cashed out most of my IRA to buy this car outright, and I didn't look back nor regret the decision. It's a 440 powered 4 spd car with console, ramcharger hood, side scoops and vinyl top. The color is butter cup yellow with black stripe, roof and interior. I'm weird, I like this color on this car.

I have a real love of the '69 Coronet body style, and I really like the 1969 model year the most for most Mopars. I'm 48 years old and had a bunch of these cars in the late '70's thru the 80's, but marriage, kids and stuff take priority and the cars went away. The weather here in San Jose is great for classic cars and I can't wait to get my car this week and drive her around and hit the local weekly Wed. car show. I'll feel like I did in my 69 Super Bee back in '79...........Woo Hoo!

I'll keep ya'll posted after I get my car this week.

Welcome from North West Indiana. Post some pictures of the car when it gets there.

Dave Nickson?

Oh Yeah, I've known Dave since about 1979, but we became good buddies in the early 80's. I haven't seen him in a while though. His ex is still is still like a sister to me...I introduced them at a Mopar Alley meeting.

Pics of my new ride

These are taken from the dealer's online ad. It looked good enough to buy.

Welcome aboard. Of course you realize you're going to have to rename it a Coronet IRA/T

:yes:Nice car!! I have been trying to convince the wife that old cars are the best retirement. Nothing better than a building full of 3 or 12 old cars.

Very nice, Ted! The '68 and '69 Coronets are a favorite of mine also. Was the fender tag removed for safekeeping? I'll probably see you at the Weekly gathering along El Camino Real in Santa Clara. :wave3:

Dan, where (and which day) is the gathering in Santa Clara? A bunch of people on FABO were looking for somewhere to meet in the South Bay.

Ted, this is Ben. I just got off the phone with Dave before checking in here. Congratulations on the R/T! It looks beautiful. Your Dart was white, correct? I remember seeing it a few times several years ago.

Wednesdays, from about 3-4:00 pm to ? at the corner parking lot at Scott Blvd and El Camino Real, Santa Clara. I have not been this year, yet. Very informal, with lots of different cars.
