I've been using Rust-oleum Self Etching Primer on my spray bomb parts. Just a light coat for the etch, and then add a coat of heat primer, and finish top coat with high temp for engine parts, or the likes...
We used Variprime made by Dupont.. several years ago on a stock oilpan, on a 383 motor in a 68 Satellite. Still looks great after all these years. Of course it is called something different now, company was bought out by AXALTA, but I am sure they offer something that is very good quality. Good luck with whatever you use.
Since I have some self etching primer and some VHT high temp paint on my shelf and its only going on my valve covers then I think I should be fine.
Was just wondering if there was a high temp self-etching primer out there for the future.
