Hey boys and girls it's been a while but I'm back again with some thing I hope some people find useful. :)

I built a 440 and dropped it into my 1974 Satellite Sundance 318 car and found that the torker 2 intake I used was taller and moved the carb linkage closer to the passengers side making it impossible to connect the stock original throttle and kick down.

I hated the idea of buying a lokar kit and figured there must be an easy way to solve the problem, I searched the net but didn't find any thing really helpful.

I set out to my local scrap yard for some parts to build my own set up and was surprised that I could get a cable type set up for $10.00 from a 1998 dodge ram 4x4 and modify to work...Have a look :) 10153933_10152530884788925_7587457389215769507_n.jpg

Above is the stock throttle body kickdown/throttle bracket cut in half.

Here I cut off some of the left half of the bracket(Out lined in yellow) and set it up to be welded to the right half of the bracket (Blue arrow) to give me a larger surface that I will drill a hole into later.

Here are the two parts welded together to make a larger mounting/bolting surface.

Here I've drilled the mounting hole (Yellow circle)
The Blue arrow points to some extra material that needs to be cut off.
The RED circle is a throttle cable hold down that needs to be cut off of the old bracket and welded to the new bracket.

Here the throttle cable hold down has been cut off and is ready to be welded onto the new bracket.

The yellow circle shows where I drilled a hole and cut a slot to allow the throttle cable to pass through and sit securely. I used the hole to line up the hold down that I cut off of the old bracket.

Here is where I weld the throttle hold down onto the new bracket.
The arrow points to where I used the grinder to cut a slot that intersects with the hole I drilled.

The yellow arrow points to where I cut the carb kickdown linkage rod to move the new kickdown cable in closer to the carb.
The yellow circle shows the hole and slot I made to allow th kickdown cable to pass through the bracket.
The yellow lines out line where I had to cut the bracket back a little more to allow the intake to carb mounting stud and nut to clear.
The blue arrow points to a small foot I welded that's sits tight against the carb to keep the bracket from moving out of position.

The yellow arrows show why I had to cut the kickdown linkage rod down to align the cable. The RED circle shows where the bracket mounts to the carb/intake stud.
The orange arrow shows the way the cable runs around the tranny, it runs over the top of the tranny and down the back near the tail stock and loops back towards the kickdown linkage.

Setting up the bottom half is way to easy!! Every thing just bolts right up, no modifications at all just change the kickdown lever on your 727 to the one from the Dodge Ram truck so that you have the proper ball on it to connect to the cup on the kickdown cable.

Finally someone like me who didn't want to spend $40-$60 on a stupid piece of metal you can make yourself!!! :hello2:

So some of us like to build parts and others buy them. My thought the buyers should be greatfull there are builders or they would not have any thing to buy.

I only buy it when I can't fabricate it. Usually the fabricated is better than store bought.

Ahahahaha... I've got a cousin named Sundance. Seriously!
