Greetings all,

I've already posted a couple of questions, but thought I'd take time to introduce myself real quick...

My name is Pete, and I live in Colorado. I'm an audio engineer by day.

I bought my 1969 Charger in 2003, and it's been a real adventure. The car was basically held together with tin, wire, bondo, as well as a few other things. Pretty much a basket case. Thankfully, I have a friend whose dad is a body man, and he did some amazing work on the car. It still has a ways to go, but we've come a long way!!

The car currently has a 383 (non numbers matching) in it. I also have a completely rebuilt 440 for it that I hope to install some day. The car originally came with a 4 speed, but someone switched it out for an automatic before I got it. I have a 4 speed for it, but no cash to do it at the moment.

It's been a learning experience...an expensive one, at that...but it is fun. Here's a before & after pic of the body work.

welocome, whoever did the work on your car,did an amazing job.

Welcome, Pete. Beautiful Charger!

Thank you all for the nice comments! Yeah, the 'ol girl was pretty rough when I got her. The guy who did the work basically did it for fun (and let me help him a little...wonderful learning experience!!).

The paint on the car when I got it was in three coats...the original pea-green, Dukes of Hazzard orange, and the black coat you see in the top photo...which I'm fairly confident was applied with a brush.

This car has been a real growing/learning experience for me. I've always loved old cars, and this is the first one I've ever had. Since there were so many things wrong with it, I've really learned a great deal about the ins and outs of it all. I'm still learning, as there are still issues with it!! Ah well.

Have attached another pic. As you can see, there was no trunk and both rear quarters had to be replaced. Talk about surgery!

I like to think of myself as an audio engineer when I mat the loud pedal.lol welcome

Welcome aboard, Pete. You say your car was a basket case. Beautiful transformation to its current state. I have a few friends who say the same about their cars and some are REALLY bad. Some of the worst I've ever seen, actually. For inspiration, I refer them to fellow member Propwash on his work he's doin on his car. They love his work and now they're willing to work their cars.
