Hood Clearance Generic Booster

Do these actually clear the hood ?
I bought my car in pieces, looks to be a Pirate Jack Kit with a GM master

Bought this one from Pirate jack and I have installed 2 others since these things are awesome and fit like OE. HAve had 3 of those type fail within a year. Ditch that crap..
