Hood grille fitment

What adjustment am I missing here. Hood and grille won't match up. Fenders and hood original to car, aftermarket grill . Just looks bad on both sides of hood. Any advice ? Thanks in advance

Adjust “up” the front hood bumpers a turn or so(?)

When I di that ,it makes the gap between hood and wider

Are you missing the chrome strip on the hood? Here is a picture of my 70.

No. I just haven't put it on yet. I'm talking about the area out at the corners of the hood . See the big gap between the grille, makes it look like the grill is sag on the ends

I think it will be less notable with the chrome put on.
