I have hand formed the RO scoop and the MW scoop out of 20 ga mild plate. Easy to do, just takes some time.
Otherwise glassman is the way to go. I bought my first one from him what? 20 years ago! Great quality.

Fiberglass is far less costly but steel is the best way to go.

I have one on ebay right now and it shows the mounting system. A lot of people have replaced their scoops that have blown off with my scoops which carries a 5 year warranty.
