I have 5101 super competition headers and 452’s right now and looking at some aluminum heads. From what I’ve found stealths, rpms, and the aluminum 452’s are the only straight plug heads. I really don’t think by looking at the headers they will let an angled plug fit without basically flattening the tubes. Anyone run the 5101 headers and have any advice?

I ran the Hooker comps (same basic layout as super comps) for awhile with angled-plug RPM heads, and yeah...they needed 'massaging' in a few spots. I also used some Accel ceramic-boot plug wires. I didn't have to kill the tubes, but there were a couple spots that needed more of a whoopin' than others. No big deal though, just mark them well--the idea being to only have to take them out and hammer them one time. Wear earplugs. They performed well on that engine..

the 5101’s seem like the #1,4,6 look like they would be mashed completely. Even straight plugs cut it really close on them. If I had the money to just throw at it I would go tti or dougs but...

I have Dougs 2" and angle plugged RPMs and they have plenty of clearance, I had to clearance the passenger side torsion bar a little and found out that you can't use head studs on a couple of cylinders.

I run Super Comps on my 64 with -1 Indys. No clearance issues.
