Horn Ring???

How the hell do you get the horn ring off of a 65 Coronet 500?? I thought it just twists off but I have put some real pressure on it and no luck, any secrets would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

You could look for screws behind the steering wheel arms, but I think it should twist off. It could be a little tight, and you could also download the 65 manual to know for sure.

It twists off to the left.

you have to push down on it,then twist it to the left.

Push the ring in at the 7 o clock position and twist to the left, works on my 66.

I am in the same boat, I treid hard to push and twist but I could not, I am afraid to brake it. I might use WD40.

 

[65 Coronet]

I disconnected the battery, and pushed down on the center of the trim ring and turned it left. I believe there are 3 prongs on the underside, you won't break them...might bend a little bit. That's how I got mine off.
