There are some bolts that goes through the firewall that I need to tighten up - but how are you supposed to get to them? They're located pretty far up on the firewall, so it seems that I need to rip some of the dash to get to them from the inside - or are there any smarter ways?

Really small midgets work well in that situation. If you can't find any, you will have to do it yourself, laying on your back, and a very flexible arm.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, not fun at all...

Yeah need to know what your working on, ny charger had bolts with nuts on it I went threw the cowl (under plastic grates ) . On most all cars it is very easy to pull the dash if need be ,but see if you have the removable grate first you might get lucky.good luck

if you're talking about the master cylinder nuts on the inside of the car, 3 of them are fairly easy to get at. it's the upper right one that will be your biggest hurdle. use a 1/2" combination wrench on that one. you will be only able to turn a little at a time.

Take out the front seat so you are not twisted like a pretzel.......................................MO

It's a 1969 Roadrunner. It's the bolts to the alternator resistor that sits on the passenger side of the wiper motor. Since I have a new alternator in - I don't need it so I was thinking I'd put my oil catch can on that bolt.

Do you get which on I mean or should I head out to the garage to take some pictures?

The voltage regulator?

Did you install an alternator with one built in?

Those bolts just go into the sheet metal. No nuts behind.

Yea, the regulator. Thanks. My car has it bolted from the inside with something that looks like a newer bolt. Can't figure out how to get in there though :/

And yes - the alternator has one built in.
