Air shocks were a must driving my '72 SSP home fully loaded for the first time from the previous owner's home (1500 miles). Someday hope to upgrade to SS springs, already have a set of PST torsion bars still in the box. Anyway used some white nail polish (not mine) to paint a "T" were the shocks sit with no air (unloaded) and a horizontal line with the shocks aired up to about 90 PSI (again unloaded). The ride difference is about 2 inches. All I need to do now is take a peak under the car to see where I stand with respect to a leaky fitting or uneven pressure (each side has its own fill valve).

Nice trick! (Confession: I've used my wife's white nail polish to make timing marks on balancers before.)
