How Much Does Your B-Body Weigh?

Stone stock A12. 440/727/60. Right at 3700 lbs, without me
62 Savoy 2dr, 440/727/8 3/4. All steel, 8pt bar, light seats, no back seat, iron heads, big starter. Uncorked, skinnies and slicks on light wheels:3250
Same car, with huge flowmasters and full tailpipes, steelies and t/a's:3410.
With me in it: 3605.

The A 12 B bodies had fiberglass hoods and no hinges. That has to be at least 75 lbs less than a steel hood setup. They also had HD 11" drum brakes like any base model R/T.

Never weighed any of mine, never occurred to me to do that. I can say my 2500 bighorn weighs 8000lbs plus some with me in it and a full tank. One of my Model A Deeres weighs 5270.

THIS weighs 4940:

Oddly, this 75 Power Wagon was 4770:

Longbed with a 440, 4wd, a Dana 44 up front, Dana 60 out back and STILL weighs less than a 2wd newer truck.

I still had the stock hinges with weak springs on mine. Lift off hoods suck on street cars imo

I'm not so sure. I weighed my 62 hood (with a raisin bran scoop) at 75 lbs (some people claim it can't be that heavy). My A12 hood is somewhere north of 30 lbs, I don't remember if it was 32 or 35.
The aftermarket hinged style hoods are lighter, and the race weight versions are lighter yet (15?)
My gutted steel hood with a hood scoop on my Tina was WAY lighter than my A12 hood.

My standard cab chevy dually with a 454 was 5200, so I guessed my duramax crew cab was over 6000. I was right.... 7800 with a 35 gallon tank half full. My box truck empty, but with two tanks full, is almost 13,000.

I stopped at a scale run by the Wisconsin State Patrol and was surprised my Charger was over 4200 lbs. I can't remember exactly what it weighed or how much gas was in the tank but it was 4200+ with me in it. I figured the 6.1 was lighter than the Big Block but the 5R45RFE must make up the difference. I guess it don't really matter. What was important to me is that it gets 20+ miles per gallon and did a 12.88 @ 103 mph at Rock Falls raceway on it's only pass.
It has a stock 6.1 with a larger throttle body and a Diablo Sport tune and I let it shift when it wanted.

My 97 Dodge 2500 diesel was just a bit over 6050 without me and a half a tank of fuel....15 gallons.

This thread inspired me to return to the scales where I've been weighing my cars.
Today, as ready for the street with all equipment in place including spare tire and about 20 lbs of jack-tools-ignition parts....

3940.

As I stated earlier, the place I use only breaks down to 20 lb increments and rounds UP so I am between 3921 and 3940.

Putting things in perspective, you're a touch heavier than a C8 Corvette ZR1 and a couple touches lighter than a ZR1X hybrid.

I'm going to weight this barge when i get it running in the spring. I'm guessing 4,000 to 4400 or so with me in it. Has a 440 with aluminum heads, 727, 8 3/4. Full interior, but no spare.

I had a '67 Coronet 3-seat wagon with 440 and 4-speed. Steel cop wheels and iron heads. On the drag strip scale, it was 4250 lb., without me in it.

2 years ago when I picked my 70 Coronet vert at the dock. Drove straight to Toledo scale company. Got it weighed to register it. 440, 4 speed. Spare tire in the trunk, and less than 1/4 tank of gas. Weighed 3960lb without me in it.
