How to clean center console shell?

Hi all, starting to tidy up some of the interior parts of the '66 Charger and hit a bit of a roadblock. The car sat for a very long time, interior was toast, floorpans gone etc. The interior hard plastic parts are in physically good condition, but have some pretty resilient grime on them. I disassembled the center console, removed the top plates, chrome trims and remnants of carpet, and washed the front and rear shells with a medium stiffness plastic bristle brush and dish soap. They got better as the "easy" stuff came off, but after three rounds of that there are still some pretty notable parts that won't go away. Does anyone have experience with a stronger cleaner that will not harm the plastic of the console? I was thinking Simple Green or something, but wanted to ask before just jumping in with that.

I use Spray 9 on everything. You could also spray it with vinyl dye. Use an adhesion promoter first.

I have used the Sem soap and it worked well.

WD-40 does the trick on anything greasy, grungy or adhesive-y.

Simple green would work, but leaves an odor. Try rubbing alcohol for super greasy stuff

Castrol super clean, very strong cleaner. Use full strength on dry surface. Spray on and let sit one minute. Scrub with soft brush and rinse right away.

It will clean wheels and caps that lazy people never cleaned before.

Beware, It's not kind to bare aluminum. Like your console tops from the 66 Charger.

A spin brush on an 1/4" impact can really speed up the scrubbing. Some of the other cleaning agent suggestions are good.
But good old cleanser can really clean up stuff as well.
