works on sedans......but be careful with it.Ok, I got the back piece loose that's above the rear quarter window. But I still can't get the piece above the door off. Its somewhat loose and I've pried as much as I dared. I need to reuse that trim and don't want to damage it. Do you have a photo of the clips that are behind that top piece?
Wrap the can opener with 2 slices of duct tape and worked good as long as you take your time.View attachment 137946 works on sedans......but be careful with it.
Congrats! Any photos of what it looked like under there? Thanks everybody. I finally got the trim off. None of the suggested removal procedured worked. Ended up spraying lots of penetranting oil inside the trim and got it to move fore and aft. I worked it back and forth a while unitil it got loose enough so that I was able to pull it aft and off the roof. On one side the clips stayed with the trim and on the other side the clips stayed with the roof.
Almost looks like you could use a small piece of the trim? Not sure about earlier cars but on 71-74 low line cars that didn't get chrome drip rail trim, there is a special part that gets crimped over that gap. The gap on those cars is farther forward, almost right at the bend to the A pillar.
Care to share how you removed your F&R windshield trim on the 62 pictured??Here's a pic of what was under the trim on my '62.
Didn't have any clips, used a few wide scrapers to slowly work it off.
