How to remove the beauty ring without damaging them???

I realize this may be a dumb question, but how do you remove the beauty ring from the rim without damaging it?

I use a brake adjusting tool with about a 45 degree angle to remove my hub caps. You might try one of those for the rims.

It goes on and comes off just like a full wheel hub cap. Insert the flat end of your tire iron under the edge then twist the tool to raise the ring from the wheel. Do a little in one spot then move it a couple inches and do it again, working your way around the wheel.
