Hurst shifter

i need help trying to remove the shifter boot off my Hurst shifter without ruining the boot

Yes, you will have to unscrew the handles first.

i already removed the T handle and when i start to unscrew the brass knuckle part it hits the shifter handle

Is it a slip-in bayonet style. First thing is to remove the trim ring/bezel......but I'm about 2.5 weeks late to the conversation so maybe you accomplished the task-at-hand already
