the bumperettes are awesome
Thanks a bunch! I know it was quick once I found the car, but I think it had to be or it would be in someone else's garage! I think it's gonna be a LOT of fun!!!I didn't think that was gonna go well.... running on 5 cylinders, LOL. Bumperettes... well. lol Have fun with it Bart, looks like you did well on the purchase !
I know you said you gave up on your search, but never say never! I am taking the Bee over to Mr. Automotive's Classic Car Garage tomorrow morning for fluid changes and a safety inspection. I will be talking to him about you then. Did you get a chance to speak with Carl? I hope so, he is a good guy with lots of Mopar experience. He has a 1969 Charger and a 69 Roadrunner. He has some other cars too and has helped me with mine on several occasions. Due to an accident, he is not able to do as much as he used to, but he is a very talented guy.Congratulations. Pretty much exactly what I've been looking for in a 1969. I love triple pickle and bonus points for no vinyl top. Please keep us updated and I look forward to seeing more videos.
I'm going to try to get Mr Automotive to do some work on my Road Runner.

Just looked at the 69 Bee. Whats up with the lower radiator hose connection and it appears to be a lot of rust underneath door rockers at pinched factory seams. Looks unfinished without the white stripe. The radiator shroud needs repair. Can't believe Gateway posted photos with the shroud. What other gremlins are lurking. Finally not correct road wheels. Bart has the better car by far and for less money.
Well, I was going to say this would be the last post in this thread, and move to the "what did you do to your car today" thread, does that seem appropriate? Anyhow, one more video for you and I will look for answers regarding to moving threads.
68 Super Bee after wipe down, then add gas and warm it up for a minute 12202025
Ok, this will be the last '68 Super Bee video.....for a little while, probably ;-) When I got home from work Friday 12/19/25, I got some dinner, then went out to the garage to spend some time with my new baby. I wiped her down and did a little walk-around video for you all. The next day when I got home from work, I went and got some gas in a can and brought it home to out in the Bee as the fuel gauge was showing empty. What a pain in the rear to get that gas in to the tank filler hole which is behind the license plate! Then I started it and let it run for a few minutes, and that is what I show in this video!

Why not? Gateway is a classic car dealership. Many or all of the vehicles they sell are on consignment. They're not in the business of making every car they sell perfect. This car looks like a very solid original that could use a little work to bring it up to snuff. Can't believe Gateway posted photos with the shroud.
Any time you purchase any old car you're rolling the dice. What other gremlins are lurking
Again, I agree with you on this. BUT, Keystone Klassic wheels are a period correct "day two" modification and they closely resemble Magnum 500's. They get a pass in my book for anything that's not a "points correct" restoration. I prefer Cragars or 5-slots but Keystones are definitely appropriate. Finally not correct road wheels.
I have no idea what "Bart" (guessing this is the OP) paid for his '68. It's a nice car. Not perfect, but nice. I was responding to @Billccm when I posted the link to this car:Bart has the better car by far and for less money.
I feel like this car is similar spec to Bart's '68. Green on green, no vinyl top, and a '69. I have no association with Gateway Classic Cars, the consignor of this particular car (if there is one) or "Bill." I just remembered seeing it recently and based on what he said, thought Bill might like to have a look at it.Pretty much exactly what I've been looking for in a 1969. I didn't notice that, good catch! The super bee decals are backwards. I really like the car, but not at 50 grand.
I've always liked the "stripe delete" cars. The stripes are cool, but there's something about a brutal sleeper with no markings! When I bought mine I had the choice of 6, one was dark blue with the stripe delete. Just had to have the stripes.
