I can't believe I am cutting up a brand new fan.

I had an 18 inch fixed blade fan with a clutch, but decided to upgrade to a flex a lite 1818. It is a seven blade 18 inch flex fan. But the hole in my aftermarket fan shroud kit is only 19 inches. I actually spent a couple hours stretching the hole open and re-drilling holes for the round shroud part. I went from probably 18.75 inches to 19 inches. I have no idea why, but I decided to cut a half an inch off of each of my new fan blades. At the time it seemed like it would be smarter than ordering a 1817 fan. I probably could have got my money back for this fan, but it did have some marks on there from test fitting, and I would be pissed if I ordered a brand new fan and received a fan like the one I was going to return. So it is not like they were going to be able to ship it off to someone else even if they gave me a refund. I didn't think a half an inch would make a difference. Besides, it has seven blades. As of right now I am going to trim the rest of my blades and spend a little time filing them.
