Haven't seen a 0ost by @eldubb440 if it can be fixed. Didn't someone separate hood frame from skin to fix something? This could be a candidate.

If taht is an original RR hood would try to get it fixed if there is not a lot of damage underneath, Second option is to get a good used or NOS hood, third option is get an aftermarket and I know for a fact that those aftermarket hoods are...not ,,,quite,,,,right!![]()
Waiting for Dennis H to post a photo of his Yellow Coronet with the hood open, tennis ball in place and a zoomed-in photo so we can read what he's written on the underside of the hood in permanent ink!Secondary latch with a tennis ball on it when the hood is open. Lol. Don’t ask me how I know.
Don't know if they produce that latch. If you are looking for one Try Stephen's in Alabama. Got a lot of missing part's for mine their and off E bay of corse.
It was awful to see that grate looking runner with a bent hood. Damn is not the word for it. Lot of work to try and make the hood straight. AMD doses sell new one's. Did see one guy on here take a Charger hood apart and fix it. That is a big job for sure. Trying to match paint is the other problem we run into. Wish you luck and feel sorry for that happen to you. Blue.![]()
I don't know if you can see that, but there is a big arrow he drew pointing at the hood latch with the words "head impaler".
There are several different formulations of B5, depending on year, and type of paint. Thanks, the paint is B-5 blue so they should be able to match it. I'm hoping they can fix it because it does not have a crease in the middle, its just the sides.
@mpro69rr This happened to my GTX too. I had the secondary latch, but it didn’t catch at 35 MPH. The underside of the hood ripped but the upper side only bent. $100 repair at my local experienced body shop guy. He straightened the top, welded the underside and touch up painted the underside’s welds (black, so it was easy for him to match with some paint he had left over). The paint on the top side never cracked.
Good luck! My problem was that the primary latch let loose sometimes. I fixed that so this will never happen to me again.View attachment 1289320 View attachment 1289323

I loosened the primary latch and raised it about 1/8th inches, so I didn’t have to slam it closed to latch it. The mounting bolt hole is large enough to adjust it.Can you share how you fixed it?
I have both latches, but it seems like mine is out of adjustment and I really need to slam the hood for it to close completely. I want to adjust it for easier closing, but I don't want the hood to pop up either. I'm not sure if it being hard to close means it is really locked into place or that it could fly off at any minute!
