I Finally Did It.....EFI

I’m not selling Edelbrock and really don’t care what anyone buys or uses. Just reporting that nothing from them AHEAD of the firewall has ever been touched, adjusted, or failed since installation years ago. The tablet is barely used but valuable for confirmation of operation. It gave me a heads up with a red lite showing in-tank fuel pump failure.

OK gentlemen, my install is complete. After dealing with a no start condition which warranted purchasing the Hyperspark system, replacing the stock distributor, removing the ballast resistor, and voltage regulator, and rerouting the fuel return line to the filler tube, I am finally up and running. I made a jumper wire connecting the brown wire and the blue/green wire on the connecter to use for the +12v switched source. I wanted the system to work when the key was turned on and didn't want to install a separate switch. I am posting my results so future installs can be referenced to my findings. Get the complete system (Sniper EFI Master Kit and Hyperspark Kit) to eliminate headaches.

hey mate , would love to hear what setting your running on her ?

Update: My IAC went retarded full open. I was driving to work got on it, let off the throttle and I now had 2400rpm cruise control. Got to work, shut it off. No vacuum leaks, ignition advance was good. IAC was open. I could plug the iac port and bring idle back down. I pulled the sensor and unscrewed the valve to close it. Got home without issue. Ordered a new one. Not a Holley, but Delphi CV10151, 1/3 of the price Holley was charging.

My Shelby Charger had two IAC failures back in the day. I decided to do a failure analysis. I peeled off the rubber boot and found the wires were connected by rivets to a phenolic board. I scratched up the rivets, added some paste flux, and flowed solder. Never had another IAC failures again. I wrote a article for the Shelby Dodge club newsletter back then outlining this finding. Had many members coming back to thank me for the easy permanent fix.

So, the Delphi is NOT a direct replacement. The body is stepped and larger in diameter. And the screw mounting holes are not the same.

So I ordered the Holley replacement IAC and all is well. Brought it up to temp and adjusted the IAC to 3-6%. Runs great again.
