I miss talkin bout cars......

talking about the art of speed
I wanted to org. build a tribute Factory 5 Daytona coupe
until I found out how small the seating area is
a tight fit
IIRC they do make an extended, body wider door opening
& a like 2-4" longer wheelbase than the org.s were
I say a guy at the track & asked if I could sit in his
he said no problem, I didn't fit for ****

I was looking at doing a GT40 tribute also
that was hot down for the same reason, too cramped
herder to get in & out of, not enough headroom
really narrow seating, I'm not the biggest guy
6'2"-ish 250#-ish

Really too bad I love them 2 cars

I may still look into the Cobra from Factory 5
top-down most of the fit issues are gone, poof

maybe someday

I wanted to do an extended/club cab 34 Ford PU rod too
Speedway was doing a cool project, future kit at one time too
354-392 Hemi Blown Dana-60 rear, 4 link, ind. front etc.
this sort of vibe

Mine ain't done yet. Glass, door parts, paint,
titling, seat belts, and insurance yet to go.

What car talk ?
it's all gas prices & EV '****' spin now

How about a truck ?

I want to do a 68 (up-to 71) D-100 or W-100 short-bed Sweptside
a 'Dude' tribute well sort of, there were no short-bed 'Dudes'

I'd like to have it have a lower stance, or lifted & bigger tires if the W-100
have "more" modern drivetrain, at a min EFI & an overdrive trans
some nice wheels & tires
& some suspension upgrades to get it low & handle well,
like QA1 stuff has of late

something along these lines with more power,
maybe A/C & power windows etc.

check out their build videos on YT

I just can find a decent one
that's no crazy prised or rusted POS
or that's 10 states away
& I'm not doing that

These types of posts drive me crazy. The name of this forum is "Off Topic." I think we are all smart enough to read a post's topic and decide if it's car-related or not. It's your choice whether to click on it or not.

Yeah I know not B-bodies, I talk about B-bodies all the time

Or a 68 Dart GTS real or clone base Dart
same concept, same details

Unfortunately, I really don't have the extra room,
I don't/won't park my cars outside (just my F350 under the carport)
but I'm just thinking out-loud

You know, car talk :poke:
this thread died quick

revive it ?

trying to talk about cars, not that other nonsense

Yes I go to the PF for that ****, it still spills over here
it is what it is, it is GD forum where all kinds of topics are discussed
another wards 'General Discussion' topics, many it seems are current affairs

photos are nice too, always break the boredom

something along these vibes, don't need to a real, it won't be a #'s deal or anything
not a fan of the wheels & tires, I'd do something more retro

this lower & wider tires & a few modern touches

I’ve plugged 4 or 5 chipmunks today and I need to go for a boat ride. Which one should I take?

Decisions, decisions….

I haven’t touched my roadrunner in a while. So no mopar questions or advice needed
The kids, mother in law and brother in laws cars have taken up a lot of time. The mother in laws Ford Escape oxy sensors, CV joints and MAF which was easy. still won’t pass smog though, kids 4 runner needed to change the knock sensors what a job that was the other kids mustang suspension mods. The brother in law….hyundai tiburon, too much to even list.
sometimes I want to hide the tools. now it’s way too hot to work on the roadrunner.
