I think Jegs kind of sucks.

My issue with JEGS is you order a part(s) from them, and they create a tracking number, give you a tracking number, and you would think it's being mailed out to you.
Then they don't even mail it for 7, 8, or 9 days.
Been happening with them, too many times now.
Grrr.
I spent several TDY's at Zweibrucken, Ger. in 71-72.

I bought one thing from Jegs a year ago and if I look in my SPAM folder it’s absolutely full of junk email from them. Dead minimum one a day.

I use Summit all the time. They do a good job. Gotta be creative though, sometimes you can do much better.

Summit and Speedway for hot roddy stuff. Jegs customer service seems to have slipped.

Hmmm. My experience is opposite. Ordered from jegs many times over many years, no problem. Summit can kiss my ***. Ordered a manifold, decided to use a different one for the application, so I returned it. They sent it back, saying it was used. Nope. ********.

None of them would be in business if the average experience wasn’t pretty good. Jegs WILL spam you though.

Jegs had always been good till about the time covid came around.ime

When you go to checkout..it shows predicted ship dates...so if you dont read carefully.. it will be a surprise.

Mainly no one answers the phones these days and I did have a leaky jegs spring tester that took about 3 weeks to return and have a new one sent out... which looked like the old one but w/jaw marks on it like it had just been tightened- reboxed-sent back. That changed my view of them. In the end I use both summit and jegs. I figure which has the better deal and then figure out the to my door cost... and I save around 20-100 bucks on average. For instance pistons were 70 dollars cheaper at jegs..as well as a few cam tools and some vsi's... free shipping coupon then bought some summit brand headers and hastings piston rings for half the price of jegs brand because it was a popular 4.020 size.. split between the two and check shipping dates before paying and you'll come out okay.

Jeg's Customer Care

Told me I would have the part in 4 weeks
WRONG Huge waste of time.
Yea I got the same message when I was trying to find a sure grip for my 8.25

between Jegs & Summit,
it's hands down Summit Racing, all day every day

I've returned stuff & never had any issue
a couple times they sent the wrong part,
even if it was my fault, they made it good
(I've been buying from them for 30+ years)
I just called customer service & they usually said if they had it,
& they usually always do, said/say; a new one was on the way

many times I order something like Wed. evening
& I have it on my doorstep by Fri., no extra charges
most all of the time (if it comes from the Reno hub)
there's no shipping or return/restocking fees/charges ever either
hardly worth going/driving 20 miles to the parts store
with service like that & I know what I'm getting

what I can't get there
I go to our local Debco/Napa store
& hope they will have it or I can get it,
But;
I usually have to pay for the shipping in that case

I had one customer service lady at Summit Racing
that I can actually remember (rarity)
Lady gave me a hard time, maybe she was not having a good day
I don't know
I just calmly asked to speak to her supervisor,
told him/her what was up
it was handled immediately or return # handled,
refunded my CC & then recharged the proper $$$
shipped out the right part
I'm not sure what happened to the 'rude customer service girl'
they had sent me the wrong part,
a new one was at my doorstep in 2 days

Last thing I bought from Jegs was
Elite ProCar/Scat bucket seats
took about 3 weeks for the seats, to arrive & they were all "in stock"
& another week for the mounting brackets

just a longer waiting time/shipping for anything,
I've ordered from Jegs

I ordered a Distributor from Jegs last month

Order showed as shipped the following night and in transit the following day

However four days later it still showed at its Ohio location in transit

So I called

Sorry the label fell off the box so we are sending a new one out

I asked her how that was possible and why wasn’t

Never mind the rest

Just a little off topic but, how did you like the Procar Elite seats? I am undecided whether to get those or rebuild the factory buckets in my 73.

sorry not to hijack you thread

I have a taller torso so I liked the fact they had a bit thinner 2" lower base
they are really comfortable, nice lower bolsters, hold you in good

the Rally Procar/Scat style seats are probably more era "looking" correct
vertical pattern is closer to org. style

In my case, if the car had the org. buckets
I'd probably have used them

my car 68 RR came with a bench only in 1968

I sat on the Procar Rallye seats before. The high side bolsters hold you on place exceptionally well. But, they make it difficult getting in and out of the seat.

One day I got home & a HEAVY JEGS box was on my porch.
I saw it was addressed to ME so opened it but it was someone elses order so I tried to contact JEGS via email as it was after hours but had NO success.
Anyway the owner (ON THE EAST COAST!) of the part sent me a letter and we agreed it would be best to send it back to JEGS. I called the next day, explained they sent me someone else's expensive! part and wanted to ship it back to them so they could send it on.
OK...They emailed me a return sticker and I put it back on the porch and it was picked up in a couple days.
Well, a couple weeks later I emailed the party asking if they got their part, they said "no".
A few days later part was BACK ON MY PORCH!
To make a complicated story a little less convoluted than what actually happened the person finally got their JEGS order about 4months after it first showed up on my porch.
Maybe longer than that, I am not exaggerating.
It was one goof up after another...
I suggested & recommended Summit.
Never a problem with them & I've gotten parts standard free shipping in 16hrs on occassion!
New delivery company is a bit slower.

I tried Jegs because this order saved me about $150 over Summits price, it was an $1100 order.

Yup, that's what I have in my charger and I literally have to climb up and over the bolster lol. Holds you like no other, though...
