That thick layer of dust seems to have preserved them. They should be good for another 30 years.
 
Kinda neat. If the lettering would hold up, soak them in some evapo rust and then hose/wipe them down really nice with some WD40. Could make a neat man cave type of thing with them.
Try on one first to see if it turns out. If the lettering comes off then they lose that "old factor"
 
Regarding the dust. Remember this car spent its entire life in Las Vegas, New Mexico. I can't ever mention Las Vegas NM. without saying this is where the original Red Dawn was filmed. I've watched the movie very carefully to see if my car was in the background of any shots but no luck so far.
