I'm working on my Christmas ornaments for this year's tree...just sharing.

I’d even be happy with the Mopar on one side like you had it, then “1969 Dodge Charger” and the back view of the car... with CRUZN 69 on the plate.

You have a little business opportunity here. Keep us posted. I would be interested in some too!! Just let us know what is needed...photos or drawings??

I have a business opportunity and have known about it for the last 7 years. Long story short...I tried to setup a business doing these and other Mopar products. I sent a sample sign to Chrysler, they loved them. We drew up a three year contract for me to be licensed to use any of the Dodge and Plymouth trademarks from 1914 to 2010. It went so well with them that I asked them to put the contract on hold while I get loans to buy equipment to make them. That's where everything fell apart. I have yet to find a financial institution that will loan me money to start my business (even though I've been in this trade for 24 years). My company name is Technic-Lee Crafted by Storz. I haven't given up yet, but it's not looking good so far. I wish I could go into this and other products full time. I plan to make custom carved valve covers for my car as well as custom air cleaner plates with carvings on them. I had plans for edge-lit acrylic carvings. It may happen yet, but not at the moment.

Walk before you run. Start small and work your way up. I imagine it's not cheap to start up....but then again nothing is.

Can you handle orders from here? Then expand into the other Mopar sites?

That's my plan, but I need one piece of equipment before I can even start. Once I get that one piece of equipment, then I can proceed to develop the rest of my products and promote them.

Did some of my Christmas carves today as well as some family carves of other stuff.

Love em!!!!!

They look fantastic! What piece of equipment do you need?
I'd like to get a Haas VF3 mill to start with. Eventually a large CNC router table as well. The mill will give me versatility for all kinds of materials. Years ago I did a lot of this kind of stuff in wood. Now metals.

That’s a slick machine. We have a Hass Mini Mill in our school shop, much smaller than a VF3, but a slick machine none the less.

Might consider going on one of those school / public auction sites to pick up a used one. Probably tough to find one but if you do, school machines are known to have seriously low hours.

You should start a kickstarter. Might drum up some cash that way.

Here’s another idea... partner up with a local trade school that has a cnc. Maybe you give some instruction in exchange for using the machine.

Maybe pay them a portion of profit: schools are always in need of money, the small amount you give them could cover consumables for a semester... I know my shop in NJ would agree under the right terms.

Heck, I’d partner with you (our school) but I’m the robotics teacher... don’t know a lick about operating that HASS (yet, anyway.)

Have you looked int an SBA loan? These are business loans offered by banks ( not all banks participate) that are backed by the Fed Govt. With what President Trump has been saying , I thought I heard in one of his speeches they were working on cutting some of the red tape involved with these loans. Worth a look. You have a cool product.

Funny you should mention "school". I used to teach this at a junior college in 1997 - 2001. California is getting all kinds of money to start CNC classes again and the old college I used to work for has been hinting at bringing me back to teach all the CNC courses again. We'll see what happens though. Politics in the college system suck...been there, done that, but I had fun teaching.

About six months ago, I had looked at this route and many other routes to get the funds. I even went to a business that specialized in helping businesses get setup, get funding, etc. Even they said there wasn't anything they could do to help me out. The capital outlay of money needed to start a business is much more than someone starting one that may only need about 5 to 10 thousand. I may need 50 to 100 thousand (or more), to get this going.

Did you call the actual machine manufacturer, or their local dealer to see if they offer financing or lease options for the machine? I’m a small business here in Arizona, and found you need to be really creative to get funding. Also, check your local SMALL banks, they are way more willing to help than Your Chase or Wells Fargo.
