Imitial ride height setting on b body big block

Hey, where do you guys like to set you're ride height pre alignment? I like to try to get a basic setting and equal side to side, but i'm wondering what you guys do and do you measure from the lower control arm bump stop and the frame pad? What measurement do you shoot for?
 
I just shoot for what looks good to my eye. I measure from the floor to the underside of the wheel well lip to get even from side to side. You can put a level under the rocker panel to get even from front to back. When adjusting your torsion bars, ALWAYS jack the front end of your car up to take weight off the suspension. The spec's in the shop manual will likely leave the car lower than you would like to see it.

I agree it's how you want your car to look. I set mine then went to a shop that aligns vintage cars.

It may not be " Factory correct" but drives and handles fine.

Make it higher than you want, it will settle down with some driving and will need to be evened out again.
 
For me, I prefer lower than stock front & rear for better handling. Watch out for front tire clearance. Set it where you like. However, as I’m learning, Mopar stock suspension doesn’t allow for a lot of caster (desirable). There are inexpensive upper control arm caster adjustment cams that can get you 2-3 degrees of caster. “Stock” caster in something like 0 degrees which makes the cars “squirrely”.
 
Last time I set one up , while it was in the air I turned the adjuster screw carefully until just contact then added like 2.5 full turns tension set it down and it was perfect level. I do have 1.12 T bars thou
