Please be gentle. Can I count the splines on the drive shaft of my car to tell if there is 19 or 24 splines on the input trans. shaft? I know after 67 the 727 had 24, but not sure what year my trans. is. 67 Coronet SB
 
No. if it is 67 I would think it was 24 Spline.
It's not push button is it.
Why do you need to know?
 
No, it's not push button, it's a floor mounted auto. What I'm gonna do is change the torque convertor. Last fall I changed cams and it's a little doggy now off the line. It still has the original TC in, which I assume is probably 1000? stall. Now before winter sets in I wanna try a 2800-3000 TC. Thanks for the response.

The transmission part number is stamped in the case right below the shift levers on the left side.

Here is a chart that will make it alot easier.Also you will find valuable information on this site.
