Yeah...that lil metal canister that plugs in to the back of the IP and cuts the 12V supply voltage down to 5V (I think that's right)

I understand there is a electronic replacement available for this lil monster.

Anyone know the part number and manufacturer???????

by the way. for those who don't know, this lil box is the cause of your gauges periodically "pegging" then returning to normal

I have built them out of my house for about 3 years....I can't compete with the big guys....so I quit making them

I have the ones I built on all my Mopars .....works great, not more wandering needles or pegging needles.

Well I am in need of one for a F*RD I own. It is essentially the same piece as for our MOPARS EXCEPT that it connects like a 9V battery. (really. no shit)

I built one years ago for my Mustang out of an LM 317. What do you think about using this one?

Never used that one....I got mine from Radio Shack...part number is 9605 I think....it's a little black square with 3 small prongs coming out of it....will take up to 20 volts and still only put out 5v to the gauges.

I also used a 100mf capacitor......parts cost me about $5....I installed them into the original Mopar voltage regulator cans.....
