Insurance companies for 68 Charger?

Hagerty is one of the few bills I don't mind paying. The '97 Camaro SS is on a stated value. Too rare to be put at an average value. There's too many ragged out ones out there.

I have Hagerty with three cars on the policy. My only complaint is I send them a check twice a year, and all they do is is send me a magazine once a month. But that's better than most of the other insurance companies I send checks to.

Anyone will willing to share premium numbers?

I think I’m paying a lot to Hagerty. As an old guy, no tickets with great credit. Fifty miles from any city.
I called Hagerty a few months ago in anticipation of my 68 Charger being complete. I don’t have an agent, I call them directly.
690.00 currently for 35K value.
2200.00 proposed for 70-75k value.

I have Hagerty through the back door, after State Farm cut a deal for them to underwrite their classic car coverage. I don't even get the magazine. However, I think $250 per year for $70K value on the GTX is a pretty good deal. I have lower rates because of multiple line coverage, and long term claims history.

Grundy had the lowest rates when I was looking a few years ago.
I have Grundy now at a decent rate. However i asked to increase the agreed value it went up quite a bit.
American Modern quoted exact number im paying Grundy, but with a $15,000 higher agreed value.

Howdy I have American Modern $1K for 1970 Charger, 1970 Newport Convert, 2009 SRT Charger, 2015 Scat Pac Challenger.

I had Hagerty for years, then the family sold to a major company... And soon after I heard of a few claims getting handled poorly... One through an online forum, and one through a high end body shop that I've known the owner of personally for twenty plus years.. Then I got my renewal & it was 30% higher than it had been...

I started shopping & at the same. time talked to my buddy with the body shop.. His comment was the only two collectors insurance companies he works with are Haggerty which he was keeping an eye on whether that would continue and Grundy...

I wound up with Grundy... Two cars one valued at $95K & one valued at 75K.... I pay $697 per year...

Thanks guys for sharing real numbers.
Looking back at my phone conversation with Hagerty, the rep kept asking if the car was modified. I replied rebuilt not modified.
From reading it seems that the term modified put me into a higher rate even though I denied being modified. Soon I’ll have to call and make a decision as my car is now on the road.

Yep.. I wish I had an easy change up here with Hagerty nothing but the old Silver Wheels program underwritten by AVIVA. My lawyer buddy is still on them for the Bird mess... but at this point nobody has raised a flag or premium stating I had a claim. The family can go out in all six cars anytime we want with coverage, as only the Wife and I live at this address! LOL IF there are any future claims... it'll be a FULL loss!

I also went with Hagerty when my mainstream TD Bank insurance would refuse to insure my Charger for its proper value. I was surprised to learn Hagerty has a "project" status where if the car isn't driving, you pay a much lower premium.

Am looking to get quotes, and wondered if “ya’ll” had good experiences and fair pricing regarding insurance?
Thanks
It sounds like you already have an insurance picked out from other posts you made, but we got Grundy for our copper 69 Charger with no complaints. We got it insured for $90,000, but would have to see what is paid to insure it.

I canceled Grundy. Went with NCM/American Modern.

Wow I’m surprised and sorry to hear that you canceled, they have been good to us. I’m glad you found another company though.
Hard to turn down a $20k increase in value for same price…. Once i informed Grundy hoping for a match- no response.

Have had my car insured for $60K through Grundy for the last 6yrs. No claims yet and hope not to. $385 or so annually. One thing my agent told me when I signed up, if the car has an accident, call the agent first (him in this case), NOT the Grundy main line as the first call. He said that he would make sure I got what is due and that I was taken care of.

Hmmm, thats interesting. I’m sorry to hear that. How many times did you try contacting them?
Many times thru emails about increasing values, prices etc., received instant replies.
Once i mentioned another company offering more coverage for same price, “would you care to match “?
No reply.
Done
