I am trying to repair a cracked trim piece that goes over the glove box of a friends 70 Road Runner. It's plastic but, I'd like to know what the best way is to fix this cracked piece. A certain type of glue? Epoxy? I don't want to have to replace this piece if I don't have to. I know, the bird doesn't belong there, I am removing it when I paint it. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

I had a similar problem with my gauge bezel. Used Guerilla gel glue and worked well. Also glue an extra piece on the back if you can to give strength (fabric or another piece of plastic).

You need to grind some groves perpendicular to the crack on the back side, get the front side lined up nice and clean and then add some metal pin (paperclips) all embedded in Permatex plastic mender or JB Weld for plastic.

Glue designed for plastic (most glued won’t stick to plastic) and glue the back. I like the ide of metal reinforcement or possible glass woven roving on the back…..not too thick though so it bolts up flat

FYI - Beebest...from your dash photo it looks like you have the incorrect lower pebble grain dash end cap. From what I see you have the non-rallye satellite cap and not the rallye style cap for roadrunner. You can see the silver trim area does not match from one piece to the other. A dead give away is the non rallye part will have molded in grooves on the back side like pictured below. Note: I could be wrong with my observation of your picture above.

Thanks! I did not realize that. I'm pretty sure they are grooved on the back. I'll check them out and get them corrected. Much appreciated.
