I changed the lower control arm and strut rod bushings in my 68 Charger and I'm starting to put it back together. In the process I noticed the from ball joint nut is hitting the lower control arm when I turn the spindle all the way. They are hitting on both sides, meaning driver and passenger side. The kit that was installed uses bolts that are 2 5/8 long and the lock nut is 3/4" long. I bought some bolts that say they are 2 1/2 long and I'm hoping they work. Am I making too much of this? I also found that the shank for the lower ball joint is too long, the castle nut jams against the spindle and cannot be spun unless I loosen the ball joint bolts. So, I'm changing the ball joints to Moog, they seem to work better.
