Need a new alternator. Tuff Stuff 100 Amp $250. Flaming River 150 Amp $620. Could use the extra charge. Is the FR worth it. No problem spending the extra dough for quality product. Both one wire hookup

Thanks in advance
Jack

I used an older Durango unit, and changed the pulley from serpentine to V-belt, on one of my cars. It worked LOTS of electrical accessories. [6-fans, fuel-pump, A/C, MSD, and normal stuff] I bought it at my local auto-parts store.

One wire are not worth the money. Take your old alternator to a good rebuilder and have it rebuilt. When one wire alterantors fail nobbody has them in stock. Plus they dont charge below 1500 rpm, a big fraud one wire alterantors are!!!

What could you possibly need more than 100 amps for ? Stock was like 40 !!

No. It's not worth it. Electronics these days are all made from the same parts from the same sources, on a risk calculation basis. They are built to meet a risk of failure formula, which means a percentage of the units will fail. You can buy a cheap unit from Autozone that will work as well as a $500 high-end unit, or you have both units fail after a month.

$620 for an alternator?
Holy Cow!

I just have my local shop rebuild them. Better that way and a LOT cheaper.

If needed buy an extra one from a swap or scrap yard, have it rebuilt and leave it on the shelf for a spare. Still a lot cheaper.
