Will this clutch work??Ill have 650 700 hp. 512 cu.in 440. I have an 18 spline hemi 4spd but i need a good clutch behind this. Will this centerforce unit be good or no? Part# 183-DF071800.
Is this clutch acceptable

Please do us a favor and post a link to the clutch. You are asking a lot for a recommendation for something we have to research to know what it is. Thanks

They list that as 620ft lb torque capacity, but if you’re truly going to make 700hp I might be looking at a better one..
Need to over think the clutch as things are pretty picky on ratings now a days if you make 620lbs a 675 -700 wouldn’t hurt.. also I would be curious about pedal effort unless you went hydraulic . Just food for thought.. I tend to overkill things just ask my buddies I don’t like walking and I won’t call a hook.

Me personally I’d call Jamie at Passion and discuss your game plans . Jamie is pretty easy to deal with and good to talk to. Brewers is good too, just don’t underestimate your engine out put and the trans capability.
Looking for a clutch myself.
I used one of those Centerforce 18 spline clutches once. Never again. Pedal effort was terrible and very abrupt. My wife couldn't even drive the car. I pulled it out and sent it back to Centerforce. They said it checked out fine. Sold the car, or I would have changed to something else. I love their 23 spline models however. Both Brewers and Passon will recommend a Mcloed dual disc if you are nearing 600hp.
I don't know about Passion but Brewer races Mopars, big motors and 833's. Wayne more than knows his way around big power.

Tried the Centerforce Dual Friction (diaphragm type) behind my 440/18 spline, didn't like it.
Got a RAM performance B&B on the car now and it is different, but definitely not better...
Given the limited offerings in 3-finger clutches these days, I think next step will be a Hays
(if I can find one). I just want one that will behave at least as well as the factory one did.

Not to hijack, but is it possible to use a 10.5" clutch (in lieu of the 11") with the 11" flywheel?

I have a McLeod super street pro in front of my 18 spline box.
I’m not making anywhere near the torque you are.
I would use the next step up in the McLeod clutch line.
mine was about 400 bucks. The better one is in the 900 dollar range, but probably what you need.

I would think 11" would have more capacity.
I'm sure it would also.
Ed just asked if you can run a 10.5 on a 11 inch fly wheel and yes you can.
I agree. This is the one Brewers and Passon recommended.

If you like your Toes on your feet ?
then make damn sure you are using a STEEL Scattershield on whatever Flywheel with that Clutch.. please don't tell me this is an "oem" Flywheel from 50 years ago ?
and remember,
even time you depress that 3500-4000 Lb Clutch ?
that....
is the force with which you are trying to stuff the Crank out the FRONT of the Block ?
Did you remember to File pressurized Oil Feed to the Thrust surface on the #3 Main Bearing ?
Just say'in..... that if you didn't ?
you may wish to limit time frames sitting at stop lights with the Clutch pedal 'depressed' pushing on that Thrust Brg ?
