So i just got my 1406 eddy carb back today and i slapped it on rather quickly. I first started it up and it was making a ticking noise, then I tighten the carb down and it went away. So then i took it for a cruise. I noticed it was idling very fast. I would let my foot off the gas and the car would pick up speed and get up to 35 mph WITHOUT my foot on the gas! Then I put the pedal down and the secondaries never went on. So it was very slow. The car ran fine before i had it rebuilt so its something with the carb. The car does however start up a lot better. I dont have to pump the gas at all like I did before

Heres my thoughts.
1.) I didnt hook up the carb linkages up right. I took pictures of how it was hooked up before it was rebuilt and tried to hook it up right but it doesnt seem like i did.

2.) The jets are unclogged after rebuild and its dumping way too much fuel in. (i dont think this is it but maybe)

Tomorrow ill play around with it. Ill set the idle mixture and idle speed. Ill check the timing and vacuum and see it adjusting that helps, but i have a feeling i hooked it up wrong.

Is there some trick that i missed? What does this sound like?

one good bounce and the needle and seat need to be readjusted
