I think our city has all the ash trees removed on city property. The damn Emerald Ash Borer costs us millions.

In North Florida Pecan is the smoking wood of choice.
Also Fig tree is a great smoking wood when fresh. gives meat a sweet smoke flavor.

Pecan is good burning wood too
so is Walnut

Knew a guy that came into work telling how he was burning walnut trees. Said he had cut down 5 big ones and spent the weekend spitting them up. I thought he was going to get sick when I told him he could have sold them for about a thousand a piece. LOL.
