Acquired this K-member this weekend along with disc brakes and spindles that I wanted. It came from a rodded 67 Belvedere but doubt original to that. I did some research on this great site but still don't recognize the steering box or mounts to the 60's and I can't find date stamps or "coins." There's no skid plate or sway bar and no tabs on the LCAs. Is this a custom fab? Can anyone help me ID it please? Thanks.

That is a 1967 V8 k frame with aftermarket steering box. Tow hook welded to the front, rest looks factory.

Appreciate your response R. Thank you.

Hmm, I thought the 66 was a tapered stud mount idler and 67 was through bolt.
Or was that in 68?
I would guess a borgesson box.

Lots of thoughts and guesses, most are off base. 1966-67 take the same idler arm.

That is a 67 k member due to the holes for the sway bar.

1968 was the fist year of the through bolt Idler arm.

That's how I remember it.... Not that knowledgeable on 66-67 but I remember my buddies 67 had the stud mount idler arm..

Thanks for the verification!
My first 67 had a k frame swap early in my ownership and that somehow dug a hole in the old memory bank.

I was going off all the misinformed folks that told me the 66 idler arm was a one year thing. Glad to know the facts now.

Thanks for sharing your expertise! I'm only familiar 65 and prior and the engine and steering mounts looked lower, farther back and less substantial than mine, but its probably engineered equally as strong or more. I think the steering box could be a stock A-Body manual after searching Borgerson but that's another issue.
